How many links on landing page?

What’s the best number of links per landing page? Is there any SEO benefit to having [x] links per page?

Here’s what I think:

Forget about SERPs. Focus on conversion. There is no magic number as far as number of links.You need to test what gives you the best result. Start with what you consider the most natural place for a link to your destination page (be it your home page or the order page) within the main content of the landing page and test from there.
