Is it true that links from blogs are better than links from directories because blogs are frequently updated? No, it isn’t.
“Frequently updated” has no direct impact on the quality of a link. The search engines don’t treat blogs differently from any other site type, including directories. All factors being equal (PageRank, number of outgoing links, topic relevancy, anchor text, etc.), a link from a directory page that never changes is just as good as a link from a blog that is updated 100 times a day.
